Sans-Culotte (Hayden Margolis)
Hello, My Name Is Jean-Paul, I am a member of the Sans-Culotte part of the Third Estate. We are an oppressed people. Why should we, the poorest estate pay for all the taxes. Why shouldn't the 1st and 2nd estate also pay. There are many others like me that share my beliefs, but they have used violence to prove their points. I hear of a storm coming. They say that we will finally prove to the Church and Government that we have had enough. I think I might join in. I am not one to normally support murder or causing pain to others. However, if there is no other way it must be done. The amount of anger I have built up must be put to use. We must make a statement in order to change things around here and that is what we are going to do. It is our job to take care of France and things must change. Violence is the only answer.

Is violence to make a statement the same as the brutal massacre of hundreds? Are you people so ignorant that you can not prove a point or succeed in your endeavors without killing off every last shred of competition?

ReplyDeleteViolence is not the answer. You must find a way to make a statement without killing hundreds of innocent prisoners. It leaves people like me, an urban woman, scared and confused. Will there be a brighter future if you continue to use violence?

ReplyDeleteOnce again, human civilization has created inequality, and unnatural desires. The division of labor has led to economic inequality and conflict. Society has corrupted the French citizens, forcing them to commit brutal acts and recognize all other humans as potential threats. Such atrocities would not be commited in a state of nature.

ReplyDeleteI think there is a better way that you could go about fixing things. You should not take out your anger by taking the lives of innocent people for no good reason. You could make a change in a less violent approach.

ReplyDeleteAgreed!! Killing isn't the only option, but it is the option we are using. I completely agree. Everyone should be taxed equally after this. Perfectly said!

ReplyDeleteYou say dear Jean-Paul that your only option is to use violent actions. Actions may only get us so far. What you need to do, as your duty as a Sans- Culotte, is touse your voice. Your problem is that you can not speak up for yourself. You fear the leaders that you choose to follow; this prevents you from speaking your mind even though nothing should. To be happy in life, you must trust your heart and follow it. You can not just do what other say. You need to speak for yourself. You may make a change. I am sure you are not the only one that feels that these killings are unjust. All we need is for you to get your voice heard and maybe just maybe you might find yourself some followers and start a new era. An era of justice where people can speak their minds freely so that they can live happily. An era where you don't have to conform to society and do the violent actions that your heart tell you not too, this era will be safe and peaceful. You can end the storm as long as you are heard. You may want to know, it is hard to hear what is not said.
