My power, my wonderful power, stripped from me. These Jacobins are out of control! Why won't they listen to me! They are trying to push me out of my place and there is nothing I can do about it! My hands are tied and I am at a lost for words. This have only gotten worse and worse as every torturous day passes by, more people dying under my control. Ever since September began France has been covered with the bloodshed of people everywhere. Massacres breaking out lead by those wretched Jacobins. Revolutionaries storming building after building. I feel as if I am awaiting my doom, all I can do is wait and hope I make it out alive. I had everything going my way. Endless amounts of money, parties and food. Now, I am in deep debt, throw no more parties and have as much food as an urban worker. My world has taken a turn for the worst and there is no turning back.
My deepest fear came true. Revolutionaries stormed my palace forcing me to flee. My family and I fled away from these bloody attacks, seeking safety from the violent Jacobins. Also, to make matters even worse the Legislative Assembly suspended my authority as a king! My power, my wonderful power, has officially been stripped from me.
Tessa Darcy (As John Locke): What did you expect? People are naturally born good and although bloodshed lurked through the streets, there was an incentive behind this bloodshed. These naturally good born people did not feel your monarchy was servicing them and protecting their natural rights, as citizens they had the power and rights to alter the government to make it better suit them. In order for this to occur, a revolution was necessary.
ReplyDelete(Montesquieu) If we split the government into three branches or equal power, we wouldn't have this problem! Instead of our king being controlled and his powers stripped, we should have him be part of three equal branches of government.
ReplyDelete(Jacobin) You saw this coming. It was clear that a revolution was bound to occur sooner or later. The bloodshed is because of you and the absolute monarchy that you have trapped us French citizens in! If we had all been in a different type of government with power that was spread out equally through certain people and the people had made educated decisions, we would not be in this position and you would not be coming close to the end of your reign... Not to mention one of the biggest problems that our country was facing was extreme debt from your lavish spending! While your people were starving to death you hid yourself behind lavish clothing and parties and food! Do not complain and expect us to feel bad for you. You saw this coming.
ReplyDelete(Thomas Hobbes) This is what happens when absolute monarchy is taken away. These Jacobins are born with evil in their heart. They have been left to themselves and are now acting on their evil impulses. You need to stand up for your people. Only an absolute monarchy can truly govern society. People need an authority figure to provide direction and leadership. Without this your people have gone to massacre. If the path away from absolute monarchy continues life in France will soon be more poor than ever, nasty, solitary, brutish, and short.
