For too long, the
western democracies idly observed Hitler’s militarization and ruthless
aggression. Now, Hitler committed his boldest act yet: the invasion of Poland.
Such audacity has resulted from an irresolute and spineless government. How
could they have thought that appeasement would have been an appropriate answer?
When a bandit attempts to rob you, do you offer him small amounts of money in
the hope that he will be satisfied by taking only a portion of your wealth? No,
the bandit shall not be satisfied until he has obtained all of your wealth. I
frankly don’t understand how our government could have been so gullible.
I
have too critical of our government. Perhaps now is not the time to complain
about the government. The Nazis have undoubtedly set their eyes upon France,
the prize that eluded Wilhelm. Now, France and England must prepare for the
inevitable war. I’m certain that, like always, France shall rise to the occasion
and defeat those dreaded Germans. Now is the time for the world to unite
against the injustice of Germany.
